FirstEDA presents HyperPlot
Our role is as a provider of Electronic Design Automation solutions to design engineers.
HyperPlot® - IC Plotting Solutions |
HyperPlot is the undisputed standard for plotting in the semiconductor and EDA industries with over 35,000 engineers worldwide relying on its optimised print engine. |
HyperPlot Solutions
IC Plotting: HyperPlot is the worldwide standard for plotting IC design data. HyperPlot enables design engineers to rest assured that this small but difficult task in IC design will not take resources away from other critical parts of the design process.
Enterprise Solutions: Through the years, Pinebush Technologies has added significant new features to HyperPlot to enable everyone in the enterprise to be more efficient with their existing printing and plotting equipment. Almost all HyperPlot licensees use the tool for a single aspect: printing their GDSII Stream or Cadence database to a wide format inkjet printer. With the new features and supported operating systems, let's review ways that you can utilise this valuable tool that you already own in new ways.
More Formats Supported: HyperPlot can rasterise a wide array of input formats. Besides standard EDA formats, these include standard formats from the Internet such as GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PostScript, and PDF. The generic graphical user interface supports these formats directly. Taking advantage of these features means:
- The marketing department can use HyperPlot to print out large graphics sent in virtually any form from their designer. Preview signs or print out your own trade show banners.
- Human Resources can print large format JPEGs from their digital camera. Wouldn't that be better than a bunch of 8 ½ x 11 signs taped up on all of the doors?
- Facilities can print out signs or new plant drawings from AutoCad.
- Circuit board and lead frame designers can print to large format plotters.
- You don't need a postscript module on your plotter if you have HyperPlot Postscript input format.
Operating Systems: HyperPlot runs on Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, AIX, and Windows platforms. That means everyone in the company can run HyperPlot. On Windows, HyperPlot installs as a print driver. As long as the Windows application has the standard File>Print, then that application will interface to HyperPlot for large format printing.
Wide Format Plotters and Desktop Printers: HyperPlot will output to more than just wide format plotters. HyperPlot will output to standard desktop printers as well. The tiling feature enables someone to print large documents arrayed in user specified tiles. And besides hard copy, HyperPlot can output TIFF, JPEG, or Postscript file formats.
PDF Writer: HyperPlot also includes a built-in PDF writer. When installed, the user will see "HyperPlot PDF Writer". Now, anyone in your organisation can create PDF documents without Adobe Acrobat. You will still need Acrobat for the more extensive page insertion, deletion, and other operations. If all you need to do is save to PDF, HyperPlot is more than enough.
Enterprise Beneficiaries: Every manager, administrator, documentation writer, marketing person, and engineer should have HyperPlot installed on their desktop. There are features for everyone:
- PDF writing
- Windows interface to wide bed plotting
- Large scale Powerpoints and PDFs
- Corporate Signage
For those corporations that budget by department, now you can spread the cost of your HyperPlot software across multiple groups.
Getting Started on Maximising Your Assets: Access to the software and access to a license. For most Windows users, that means installation of the client software. Most Unix users will already have access to the HyperPlot installation. If you are on a site lease, you probably have enough floating tokens to go around for everyone. If you have a single floating license, you might want to eventually add a token to your current installation.
Many of our customers have fixed, node locked licenses. These customers should probably upgrade to a floating license if there will be more than a few Windows operating system users.
HyperPlot: It's more than just EDA plotting.
